Dawson Richards won his first match and lost his second match to the eventual second-place state finisher. Spencer Romans and Howie Rushton—Boys doubles Lost the first match to the eventual state champions. Lost second match in a close contest. Mary Esplin lost her first match and lost her second match in a very close contest.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Nyssa High School Girls Track Team!! 3A State Champs!! The track team will be returning to Nyssa this evening about 5:30 by police escort. All of Nyssa is invited to welcome them home in the high school parking lot at 5:30pm. Go Bulldogs!!

NES Kinder parents: the awards assembly information sent out for the May 25th assembly is incorrect for Kinder students: Kinder students will NOT participate in that assembly. Instead, they will only participate in the graduation ceremony on May 17th. NHS Families: We will have a Junior Class meeting on May 18 at 9:00 for the class of 2023. We will be discussing their upcoming senior year and giving information about fundraisers for their graduation night activities. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend. Please note that this is on May 18 at 9:00 in the high school auditorium not May 29 which is graduation. Dear Nyssa School District Parents and students, I am sending this communication to make sure all have the same story. Yesterday afternoon, while elementary students were on the playground, some students heard loud noises, resembling firecrackers or paintball. Adults on the playground immediately reported this to the principal, who called police. Police responded immediately and located two adult males nearby, driving a vehicle. The adult males had an "Orbeez" gun, which is a small air gun that shoots water-or gel-filled pellets. There was no threat to students or staff, and police have apprehended the two subjects, who are facing potential criminal charges. Thank you to our staff, students, and local police who all responded quickly to resolve the issue within minutes.

The Migrant Education team is doing Migrant Summer School registration in the evenings this week. The team will be in the District office from 4:15 p.m. - 8 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. We are also doing Oregon Migrant Leadership Institute (OMLI) registration for middle and high school students. NHS Senior Parents , we will be extending the community service deadline for seniors to April 22nd. Community service is a state diploma requirement and students must meet all diploma requirements in order to participate in their graduation ceremony. This deadline exists so that we can order graduation announcement, diplomas, and miscellaneous graduation items. Please talk to your senior and help them find a way to complete their remaining community service prior to April 22. THANK YOU!
